Cookie Policy
Last updated: 26 September 2026
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. This page explains which ones The Mentors Network uses and why. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data more generally.
Essential cookies
These are required for the site to work and can't be switched off. We don't ask for consent to set them, because the site cannot function without them.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
Session cookie (PHPSESSID) |
Keeps you logged in to your mentor, facilitator or administrator dashboard, and protects forms against cross-site request forgery. | Up to 8 hours, or until you log out |
mn_cookie_consent |
Remembers the choice you make in the cookie banner, so we don't ask again every visit. | 180 days |
Optional analytics cookies
If you choose "Accept all" in our cookie banner, we set cookies from Google Analytics to help us understand how the site is used (for example, which pages are visited and roughly how many people are using the site) so we can improve it. These are not set until you consent, and choosing "Reject non-essential" keeps them off.
| Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Aggregate, anonymised statistics on site usage. | Up to 2 years (set by Google) |
Managing your choice
You can change your mind at any time by clearing the mn_cookie_consent cookie in your
browser's settings, which will bring the cookie banner back on your next visit. Most browsers also let
you block or delete cookies generally through their settings — bear in mind that blocking
essential cookies will stop you being able to log in to your dashboard.
