Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 26 September 2026
We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website, whatever their needs. This statement explains what we've done towards that so far, and what we know still needs work.
What we've done
- Navigation menus and dropdowns can be operated by keyboard alone, and expose their state to screen readers (
aria-expanded,aria-controls). - Pop-up dialogs (such as message previews in the mentor and facilitator dashboards) are announced to screen readers and can be closed with the keyboard.
- Interactive controls have visible focus indicators, and images that convey no extra information are hidden from screen readers.
- Page structure uses semantic headings and landmarks (such as a main content region) to support navigation by assistive technology.
What we know still needs work
We haven't yet had this site formally audited against WCAG, and we know of some limitations:
- Some downloadable resources in the Resources area (PDFs, Word and PowerPoint files) are supplied by third parties and may not be fully accessible.
- Event booking happens through Eventbrite, a third-party service outside our control, which has its own accessibility statement.
- Some older parts of the site predate this accessibility work and may not yet meet the same standard — we're rebuilding these on an ongoing basis.
